Wee Wednesday Martian Manhunter

Nobody's favourite is always somebody's favourite. J'onn J'onzz AKA the Martian Manhunter is one of my very favourite superheroes. First of all, he's a green man from Mars! He can read your mind, change appearance, go intangible, turn invisible, is super strong and can fly. In fact, he sounds like perfect boyfriend material to me! J'onn's become quite well known of late, thanks to his prescence in the Justice League cartoon. Alas, he never seems to be able to support his own comic for long. Grant Morrison and Mark Millar set him up as a Southern hemisphere Superman, with multiple secret identities- one of which was a cat! Of course, the next writer assigned to him pretty much dismantled all that stuff, and he's been subjected to a couple of rotten revamps since (and one okayish one). I've tinkered with him a little bit, but he's still recognisably the 'Alien Atlas' from the red planet!

Wee Wednesday Power Girl

Power Girl is a character with great potential, but she's been re-booted and re-costumed so many times, its hard to feel anything but indifference to her latest incarnation, apparently designed by the person who does Stevie Wonder's jazzy cardigans. The best and most simple explanation of her origin is that she's Superman's cousin. Like Supergirl! But unlike Supergirl, she really is all woman (I don't know why she isn't called Power Woman). For many years she was rocking a polo neck with a boob window, which was never the most flattering look for her busty figure. Any well-endowed lady will tell you that a scoop neck is the way to go. I gave her tights too- so sue me!

Panda Sketches

I've always liked pandas. I had pandas instead of teddy bears as a bairn, so maybe that's why. I decided to test drive a refillable brushpen with the Rotring ink of my youth and this is what fell out. As always with pandas, a difficult birth!
